Hi! I’m Laura and since you’ve found me here, there are a few things I’d like you to know about me.
My life has been a bit unusual. I’m a British-Filipina, but I grew up in Germany (some people call this being a third-culture kid). I’m active on social media, I’ve planted thousands of trees and worked with well-known brands that I love.
Until recently, I didn’t feel like I knew where my life was going. I spent a long time trying to figure it out – you might be able to relate to this. I studied Chemistry because I wanted to save the planet and fight climate change, but it turns out I’m not meant for a life in the lab. After I graduated, I moved to the Philippines and had the chance to experience the world of show business (a story for another time!).
My interest in environmental protection began after I met Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Wangari Maathai, when I was just 11 years old. Sometimes when I watch the news and see what’s going on in the world, it makes me feel small and helpless. Sitting in a small condo overlooking Manila in 2020 during the first months of lockdown and recognising the environmental challenges faced by a country I love, I realised that whatever situation we find ourselves in, we still need to make every day count. That’s when I decided to write Eddy Saves the World, a story which teaches us all that we are never too small to make a difference.
I love talking about stuff and meeting new people from all around the world, so feel free to reach out to me anytime.
Can’t wait to meet you,
